Last Friday after work I went to the doctor to make sure I wasn’t hurting myself with my diet. Monday morning I went to the lab and had some blood taken for testing. The results came back quickly and everything is normal. Sweet! What wasn’t so sweet is that I weighed in while I was there too. For some reason I felt the need for a sneak peek. I was 417lbs on Monday. Ouch! Up 3.5lbs.
I knuckled down and really watched what I ate, but I was still worried about weighing in today. I forgot to wear my normal shoes today. It’s raining here (I know.. weird. Rain in Portland.) so I wore my Dr. Martin boots like I always do on rainy days. I got on the scale today and I was 414lbs WITH my boots. I took myself off and reweighed. I was 409lbs. That’s 5 pounds worth of size 15 wide boots.
I figure my regular sketchers are much less. I’m going to estimate them at 1.5lbs. 409 + 1.5 = 410.5lbs. That’s a 3 pound loss. Sweet!

Another week down the tubes. I checked in at 413.5lbs today. That’s 2.5lbs for the week, and 22lbs so far. Sweet! That’s over 5% weight loss. I’ve been my co-workers for the 20 Pound Club. I’m hoping to reach 40lbs before any of them reach 20. The next highest person has lost 9lbs.
Side note:
I need to find a new weight loss graph to post on my blog. I like this graph, but it only shows the 10 most recent entries. It doesn’t show that I started at 435.5lbs. That bugs me, so I must search for a new one. Anyone happen to know of a good weight loss graph for blogs?

I’m a day early. I’m going to a seminar tomorrow and wont be near my doctor’s office to weigh in on their horse scale. So, it was today or wait till Friday. I’m a wanna know NOW kinda guy, so today was the day.
This week… Much better than the last two weeks. Lost another 2lbs. YAY ME!. 19.5 lbs total. Here’s the graph.

I normally write these right after I weigh in, but this one took me awhile. I’m irritated with myself. I should have done better. It’s been a rough couple of weeks and I’ve been giving in to my temptations. I haven’t been giving in tooooo bad, but still giving in. I didn’t gain or lose anything. I’m still sitting at 418lbs. I know I know. I shouldn’t feel bad. Not gaining anything is still good… Go to hell. I don’t want to hear it.
I need to just suck it up and stick to my plan. My plan works if I don’t cheat too often. I WILL do better this week. I can’t let myself have 3 weeks like this in a row.

Oh boy. Here we go again. It was a hard week. I have no excuses. I just ate a lot. I’ve been plagued with a feeling of hunger all week, and I gave in to it of several occasions. Its also “Customer Service Week” and our office has been filled with good food. In fact, this morning they have eggs with cheese, potatoes, bacon, sausage, O.J., fruit and pastries. Who could say no to that? Not me!
Lets take a look at this week’s damage….
Ok, not too bad. I gained 1 pound. That’s nothing a good BM couldn’t take care of, or maybe I should have just taken off my shoes. Any way, today is starts a new week. I’m shooting for 5lbs this week. Anyone want to place any bets?

I’m feeling good again. I checked in at 417lbs today. That’s 2lbs less then last week. I congratulated myself with a Super Star from Carl Jr’s… Opps! But it was sooooooo good! I haven’t had fast food since August. Of course its now sitting in my belly like a load of rocks, and making me ask myself “Why’d you eat that you big dummy?! Now you feel sick.”

Damn it. Another walk of shame. I gained a pound. Just a pound, but a pound. I’ve been taking some pretty hardcore antibiotics, Keflex, for an infected ingrown toe nail. I’ve taken keflex before and it reeks havoc on my stomach. I have learned a trick to help ease the pain on my stomach though… I must eat a good portion of food or a large glass of milk with it. So, I’m taking keflex 4 times a day. That means 4 meals. Every night before bed I have to eat and drink something, adding quite a bit of calories to my daily intake. It’s only for ten days, but that really sucks for my diet. I’m having the toe nail extracted on the 3rd of Oct, so things should get back to normal. I only hope that if I gain again next week, I only gain a pound as well.

Not a huge week, but a good one. I’m now 418lbs. That’s another 3.5 lbs for the week. That’s a total of 17.5lbs. I haven’t ate at well as I should have been. I followed my diet about 85% of the time this week. I just gotta stick with it. I’m almost half way to my first mini goal of 10% (43.5lbs) loss. My goal for this next week is to lose 4.25lbs to reach my half way point.
The diet is going fairly well. Having Patricia’s support (she’s dieting too) is incredibly helpful. We’re both eating much less. We’ve been commenting on how we’ve been filling up faster, so we’re eating smaller portions. Smaller portions of healthy food is our main tool. It seams to be working.
Tonight is pizza night. We’ve been rewarding ourselves after weigh in with something terrible. I can’t wait!

Ok, I’m back on track. I’m a whole 6.5lbs lighter this week. I made up for last week’s gain and lost an extra pound on top of that. Total loss is now 14lbs.

I knew this was coming. I didn’t want to weigh in today, but if I didn’t I’d only be cheating myself. I knew what I was doing this weekend when I ordered the chicken fried steak and gravy for breakfast, or when I ate several slices of Patricia’s delicious yellow birthday cake with chocolate frosting. I am 100% responsible for my gain. I added 5.5lbs to my weight. I’m back up to 428lbs. So far in 3 weeks I’ve taken 2 steps forward and one step back.
I still have my head up though. The great thing about diets is you can always start again. I’ve been good today. Lets count calories for today so far.
90 cal – Dark Chocolate Cherry granola bar
190 cal – French Vanilla Yogurt
150 cal – Vanilla Munch Granola (Mixed into the yogurt)
40 cal – Pluot
530 cal – Subway Double Meat Sweet Onion Chicken on Wheat w/ provolone
140 cal – Baked Lay’s sour cream & onion potato chips

1,140 cals
I try and stay between 1,800 – 2,000 calories a day. A 6’3″ male with a weight of 270lbs (my target goal) would need over 2000 calories a day to maintain his weight. So I have about 650 – 800 calories to use up tonight. Some fresh veggies, salad, and chicken breast should do the trick.
So that’s the plan for the next week. Patricia’s mom flies into town tomorrow. I’ll be MUCH better this weekend. Here’s the graph. See ya next week!
