Kent's desk prank

Kent came into work and climbed through all of the twine and had a seat. I thought for sure he would cut it away first thing. He is currently un-stringing his desk with the goal of not needing scissors.Kent Prank

I like to call it the “Cup and Marble Maneuver”. Here are the steps I took to pull it off.

  1. I went to the dollar store and bought a bunch of paper cups
  2. Went to 2 other stores looking for a bag of marbles. Old fashion marbles are hard to find it the age of electronic toys. I even contemplated using gum balls.
  3. I filled one cup with marbles, placed a piece of paper on it, flipped it upside down, placed it on the desk and pull the piece of paper out from under it.
  4. Placed the remaining cups around her cube (There is still some cups in her drawer that she hasn’t found).
  5. Sat down at my desk and thought that she might get suspicious that all of the cups were empty, and start testing them to see if one was filled with something. (Maybe I was over paranoid.)
  6. Had a powwow with my teammates about what I should hide in the other cups.
  7. Print off a bunch of clean SFW jokes.
  8. Cut the sheet of jokes into individual jokes.
  9. Fold up the jokes and randomly place them under the cups.
  10. Wait for boss lady to come back on Friday.

This worked GREAT! She was surprised and over analyzed it. She questioned “Why cups? Did I leave my cup somewhere?” Then she moved a cup and found a joke and laughed. Moved some more cups and found more jokes. Soon she was lifting the cups up like a mad woman, and BAM! The marbles crashed to the desk and floor. SUCCESS!

It doesn’t surprise me. He’s a wealth of knowledge.  He just happened to bring in 3 dozen doughnuts too.  When I got to work there was a maple bar sitting atop of a refreshing container of milk. So I didn’t get to send any extra ransom notes. I’m a little bummed out about that, but I’ll live. Kim took it all in stride, and of course he knew it was me. It was a good laugh for many people. Everyone was watching my every move yesterday asking me why I was packaging Kim’s beef. After explaining most people just shook their heads and walked off.
Because I’m an honest cownapper I returned the cow promptly. I set it next to the box of doughnuts with a few extra balls of foil.
Good times. Good times indeed. I wonder who I can mess with next. It’s going to be hard to top this one. I mean I blind folded the cow for the ransom photo for pete sakes!

My co-worker Kim has been walking past me and throwing balls of aluminum foil at me ever since. I’ve been collecting all of the foil balls in my desk and haven’t really known what to do with them. The other day it hit me. Kim collects cows. Kim has a cow farm on his desk. I have an ASSLOAD of aluminum foil saved. Aluminum foil + Kim’s Cow = One hell of a good time!
I wrapped every cow on Kim’s desk with his used aluminum foil.


I even did the one on a pen.

Then I stole a stuffed cow and left a ransom note. The cow I stole sits on a box filled with Atomic Fireballs. He loves Atomic Fireballs.

I’ll keep you updated on if I get my Doughnut.
