Losing a great friend.

I write this with the heaviest of hearts. I know this is what I have to do, but it isn’t easy. As if I haven’t gone through enough heartache this year… Now this. I need to find Jade a new home. I’ve been trying, we’ve been trying to work with Jade, but she crossed the line. Jade has become food aggressive towards Molly. Her food dish, treats, and rawhides. It started off with a few lunges and back hair standing on end. This has been fairly manageable. Molly has been a trooper, but it’s hard to ask a 7 year old to be a leader and more powerful then a 65lbs dog.

Last night we were setting up the Life game board on the floor.  Jade was in her bed and I had my back to her. Molly was to my left, patricia in front of me. Patricia scowled Jade, and the next this I knew Jade darted after Molly. We dove towards Molly and Jade. I flipped Jade over to a submissive position, and Patricia took Molly to the other room to take inventory of the damage. Molly has a small scratch and bump under her left eye and scratch and bump behind her right ear. There was a rawhide next to jade’s bed that she was “protecting”.
Molly is ok. No real physical damage, but that was too close for comfort. Molly loves Jade and was in tears about the possibility of giving her up. As the adults we have the difficult choice of doing what’s right for the child. Finding a new home for Jade. I clearly do not have the skills to manage her on my own at this point. If only I could be the dog whisperer for a few weeks.
So I need to find a good home for Jade. Free of dogs, cats, young children, and with enough love to give my ball crazy sweet heart. She’s well trained with obedience commands. Sit, lay down, roll over, go to your bed, head down (when she laying down and you want her head down too), off (the couch, bed or what ever), out of the kitchen, no begging, drop it / let it go (ball at you feet), give it to me (putting the ball in your hand), and the difference between Ball, Bone, and Pippi (a rope toy that its the size of a human head).
Does any one have a good home for Jade (A.K.A. Jadie, Jaderaid, & Raider)? You can have all of her supplies. Beds, toys, collars, ect… I just need to find her a home with people that that will love her and treat her and well, if not better, as I do.
ps.
This fucking sucks!

Could we still be friends?

Nope… I don’t think so. Even though things for the most part are civil between Anja and I, I doubt will be able to be friends. Which is ok with me. I mean… inviting the ex over for dinner with the new partner is probably in the top 5 most awkward things ever. I guess its natural for total separation to take place when getting divorced.

I first realized we couldn’t be friends last week. Anja has been battling herself on what to do with our dog Jade. She was going to keep Jade, after all, I bought Jade for Anja. Jade has been stuck at home for long periods of time lately due to Anja starting a new job father away, and a new life. I had been distancing myself from Jade and not coming around her or playing with her, because giving her up was a hard pill to swallow. Anja decided that taking care of Jade was a little too much for her right now, so I am keeping her. I haven’t been staying home at all lately, so if I was going to keep and take care of Jade she needed to come with me.
As I packed some of Jade’s things I could here Anja crying in the bedroom. Being that I don’t hate Anja and I still have an ounce of compassion left in my body I asked if she needed a hug or anything. Her response was “No offense… but not from you.” Friends console each other, right? She asked me before if we still could be friends… I said I was ok with that. I guess she feels differently about us being friends now. I’m ok with that too.

Jade’s New Friend

So I took Jade across the street to the field at the school to play fetch. There were several kids playing basketball and being loud. Jade didn’t care. She just wanted the ball. As we were walking to the field a little boy asked if she would bite. I said “no” and he asked if he could pet her. He came over and rubbed her head and back. Jade didn’t really care. She had her eyes locked in on the ball. I threw the ball and Jade took off like a bat out of hell. The little boy wanted to throw it so handed him the Chuck It!. After a few attempts at throwing the ball he finial threw one that Jade had to run for. I tried to to give the little boy some encouragement “Good job little dude!”, and I was quickly corrected “Don’t call me dude! My name is Able.”

Well little Mr. Able and I traded throwing the ball for Jade for about 20 minutes. Jade is happy she got to play, Able is happy he got to play with Jade, and I’m please with Jade’s performance around a bunch of loud pre-teen and younger children.

Potato Humper!

Jade is in heat, and her vagina is swollen up like a potato! It’s HUGE!!! When Kaze walks by and sniffs it, Jade somehow angles it up in a “Take me now!” fashion. It’s rather gross. And for that reason I feel compelled to share their disgusting act of love.

Here are my sweet little lesbo dogs. Enjoy!

A Day at the Park

Yesterday took the d.o.doubles to the park. We picked up this new “Chuckit” toy to help launch the ball farther then we can normally throw it. The dogs looked so freakin happy. It was good to see them so happy.

Jade was running after the ball like a mad woman. She got so tired that she just lied down at the water dish. At least this time she didn’t hurt her paws. I think we learned our lesson about her running on hard surfaces. On the grass she did just fine.
Kaze didn’t really care about playing ball at all. She’s more of a free spirit. She was much more interested in exploring every nook and crany of the park. We did get her to run and play a little bit. She likes people to chase her. Unfortunately she has fat owners that can’t chase her for too long. After chasing her I was about to pull a Jade and lay down in front of the water dish too.
